    Good vibes only

    Sneak preview, people!

Old Dominion is releasing a new album, “Memory Lane,” on Oct. 6. But they’ll be in concert at Mohegan Sun on Friday, so … perhaps show-goers will hear some new music before it’s actually released?

Now, eight of the songs on “Memory Lane” were also on an EP that came out in June, but this full album has 10 others as well.

Old Dominion is calling this the No Bad Vibes Tour, and that’s certainly their aura.

Here’s why I think Old Dominion has been so successful: the band members are talented songwriters, and they formed the group to showcase the tunes they’d penned for other artists. (Brad Tursi, for instance, co-wrote “Light It Up,” which became a hit for Luke Bryan; Matthew Ramsey had a song recorded by The Band Perry, and Trevor Rosen had one recorded by Kelsea Ballerini. That’s a hugely abbreviated sampling.)

So they not only are good performers but also create their own super-catchy material. Win-win.

Old Dominion, 7 p.m. Friday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with Jameson Rodgers, Niko Moon and Kassi Ashton; $79.50-$129.50; mohegansun.com.
