‘One Day’ is now: Tate McRae to play Mohegan Sun
Are young women ruling the airwaves again?
Sure seems like it, with Sabrina Carpenter leading the pack of females having hits with songs that sound like breezy pop confections … until you listen to the lyrics. Those lyrics tend to be more raw, more explicit and more complicated than you might expect from, well, breezy pop confections.
Part of this wave is Tate McRae, who became a luminary when her song “One Day” when viral in 2017. She followed that up with hits like “Greedy,” “Exes” and “You Broke Me First.”
McRae comes to Mohegan Sun on Sunday, and if you can judge an artist’s clout based on how much resale tickets are going for, she’s a star with major power. The cheapest tickets were $125 on the day I looked online.
Tate McRae, 8 p.m. Sunday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with Presley Regier; resale $125 and up; mohegansun.com.
