Westbrook man identified as victim in Old Saybrook boating crash
Old Saybrook— The man found dead in Monday’s boat crash was identified on Wednesday as 34-year-old Christopher Hallahan of Westbrook.
The search for two missing men who were aboard the boat resumed at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection spokesman Will Healey said in a statement.
Hallahan was among the nine people aboard a 31-foot center console boat that officials said struck a breakwater at the mouth of the Connecticut River, near Harbor One Marina, shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday.
Six people were pulled from the water and taken for treatment at area hospitals.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Officials said the crashed boat was headed back from Block Island at the time of the accident.
