Welcome to The Day's Newspaper in Education (NIE) Program
Our NIE program provides educators in our region with a digital subscription to The Day to be used in the classroom to support their lessons.
The newspaper is a valuable resource for any classroom because it provides current information that helps to expand and update information that can be found in textbooks. In addition, relevant local and national news is written at a variety of reading levels. Newspapers cover a wide array of subjects which meet a variety of interests, needs and ability levels of many students.
Our NIE subscriptions are available to educators (elementary — college) in our region. Each subscription comes with unlimited digital access to theday.com, our daily ePaper for the full school year.
NIE subscriptions are offered to teachers for $5.00 charged every 4-weeks.
To enroll your classroom, simply fill out and complete the classroom participation form by clicking here.
Each teacher receives a license to be shared among all students in the classroom.
Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive instructions for accessing all resources of The Day's NIE program, including the The Day's e-paper and app.
The e-paper allows users to download, print, email, and share stories via social media; stories may be bookmarked and/or clipped for lesson planning; and stories may be downloaded as podcasts for oral learning.
