We are in the community, every day, covering the local news that matters to you. In 2022, we want to do more. We're planning an in-depth investigation into economic mobility in the region, starting with the availability of affordable housing. Education group condemns attacks over curriculum

We stand strong together as a coalition of education stakeholders who condemn the recent attacks on educators regarding curriculum, and we are committed to putting a stop to the threatening and harassing behavior against Connecticut's public school teachers.

We oppose racism, prejudice, and discrimination wherever it exists, and we support diversity, inclusion, and equity. Our classrooms must remain safe havens where students learn about their world through honest, truthful, age-appropriate, and fact-based curriculum, even if some lessons are difficult and uncomfortable.

Our dedicated, professional educators know their job is to educate students with facts, and they must be allowed to do so to help students develop critical-thinking skills so that they can succeed in their future careers and have a positive impact on our community, state, and country.

We celebrate our educators' efforts over the last 20 months, we strongly defend their professional judgment, and we denounce the egregious attacks on their right to teach.

We are confident that the overwhelming majority of Connecticut residents agree with us that racism is wrong and that attacks against our educators and policymakers by a small group must stop. Our educators must be allowed to provide their students with the high-quality education that our state is known for, to ensure the world they inherit is a place where liberty and justice for all is a reality, not just a slogan.

Together, we affirm our commitment to academic integrity and honesty that have been the hallmarks of American education for decades. When anyone pushes against our most sacred educational values, we will push back.

The Coalition of Education Stakeholders includes the following organizations: American Federation of Teachers Connecticut (AFT Connecticut), Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS), Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS), Connecticut Education Association (CEA).
