Mashantucket — Mashantucket Pequot tribal police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of a tribal member in the assault Sunday of a Foxwoods Resort Casino security officer.

The warrant is for the arrest of Jukumu Reels-Felder, 28, whose last known address was 10 Ephraim’s Path, Mashantucket, according to William Dittman, the tribal police chief. Reels-Felder is being sought on a charge of second-degree assault, Dittman said.

Reels-Felder allegedly struck Brooke Wyngaard, a security officer who had responded to an altercation in The Fox Tower at Foxwoods. Wyngaard, 35, of Preston sustained bone fractures and a broken nose when an assailant punched her in the face, she told The Day.

In July 2013, Reels-Felder was sentenced to 21 months in prison and three years' probation after pleading guilty in New London Superior Court to a charge of accessory to first-degree assault. Reels-Felder and his younger brother, Sequoya Reels-Felder, were involved in the 2012 beating and stabbing of 18-year-old Tomar Gibson in Norwich.

Sequoya Reels-Felder pleaded guilty to a first-degree assault charge and was sentenced to 32 months in prison.

The Reels-Felders are nephews of Kenny Reels, vice chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Gaming Commission and a former Tribal Council chairman.
