Montville — Town police say it was an investigation into activity at the Healing Day Spa at 1031 Route 32 that led to two local women being charged with prostitution this past week.

Ming Hua Li, 55, of 4 Depot Road, Apt. B, and Guixiang Pu, 57, of 1591 Route 32, Apt. 35, were taken into custody Thursday without incident. Both were released on $5,000 nonsurety bonds and are due in Superior Court in Norwich on Oct. 22.

The investigation had involved multiple agencies, police said in a news release. Further information was not immediately available.
