Pawcatuck man charged in New London home invasion

New London ― Police have arrested a 28-year-old Pawcatuck man in connection with an alleged home invasion on Vauxhall Street in April.

Justin Carver, 28, of 15 Lathrop Avenue, Pawcatuck, was charged Wednesday with home invasion, third-degree criminal mischief and breach of peace. Police allege Carver is one of two people who smashed a window and broke into an occupied home at 77 Vauxhall St. on April 23.

The victim in the incident told police a female had come to the door looking to buy drugs and when she was told “we don’t do that anymore,” returned with Carver demanding $100, police reports show. The victim told police that one of the two tossed a rock through a window and unlocked the door from the inside to gain entry. The victim fled and was not injured.

Carver, at his appearance in New London Superior Court on Thursday, was ordered held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
