    Man charged in Waterford bank robbery

    Waterford―Police on Wednesday arrested a 48-year-old former Manchester man in connection with the robbery of the People’s United Bank branch at 716 Broad St. last month.

    Michael F. Macy, 48, with an uncertain address, is charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree larceny in connection with the June 18 bank robbery.

    Macy was additionally charged with 10 counts of first-degree failure to appear in court. State Judicial records show Macy has numerous pending probation violation cases linked to past crimes that include burglary and failure to register as a sexual offender.

    Held in lieu of $241,000 in court set bonds, Macy was due to appear Thursday in New London Superior Court.
