Lisbon ― State police said a man died following a crash involving a motorcycle and car Monday evening on River Road (Route 12).

Police identified the deceased as Jonathan R. Fowler, 31, of 8 Wilmot Ave., Norwich.

According to the accident report, a Toyota Scion tC, operated by Randall L. Baah, 74, of 84 North Burnham Highway, Lisbon, was exiting the Citgo Station on River Road, turning right onto River Road to head north, when a Harley Davidson FXDC motorcycle, operated by Fowler, was traveling north. The motorcycle collided with the car in “an angled sideswipe manner” and Fowler was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained life-threatening injuries. Baah was uninjured.

Police said Fowler was originally transported by American Ambulance to Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment and later taken by Life Star Helicopter to Hartford Hospital. Police said he died Tuesday.

An online obituary said he died Monday.

The crash happened at 6:33 p.m. Monday, police said.

Police said the accident remains under investigation.
