    Pedestrian struck by bus in Norwich

    Norwich ― A 51-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a school bus on Friday morning, police said.

    The accident occurred at 9:49 a.m. in the area of 100 Town St. Police responded with emergency medical personnel and the woman was taken by ambulance to The William W. Backus Hospital. On Friday afternoon, police said the woman was listed in critical condition.

    No students were on the bus at the time of the accident. Town Street between West Town Street and New London Turnpike was closed while the scene was investigated by the Norwich Police Department Collision Investigation Team.

    Police did not release the woman’s name pending notification to her family.
