Thieves steal $2,000 worth of Legos from Old Saybrook Walmart, assault and threaten employee
Old Saybrook ― Thieves made off with $2,000 worth of Legos during a Wednesday morning robbery at Walmart in which a store employee was injured, police said.
The incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. when police said three people, two women and a man, entered the store and filled up two carriages of Legos and left the store without paying.
As they were leaving the store, police said a Walmart loss prevention specialist attempted to stop them. The man struck the Walmart associate with his elbow and then threatened to shoot him, police said.
Police have identified the male suspect as Glenn London, 36, with a last know address in the New Haven area. London is also a suspect in two additional Lego larcenies from the Old Saybrook Walmart in October and November when police say $3,800 worth of Legos was stolen. London has multiple prior convictions for larceny, driving under the influence and violation of probation, according to state judicial department records.
“This type of behavior, including the attack and threats made to a Walmart Employee are completely unacceptable. These local matters have national impacts, and they must stop. We hope the public will help us bring London and his associates to justice,” Saybrook Police Chief Michael A. Spera Chief said in a statement.
Anyone who can identify the women with London or knows his whereabouts are asked to contact the Old Saybrook Police Department at 860-395-3142.
