    New London school bus collision results in minor injuries

    New London ― A collision between a car and a school bus at the intersection of Willetts Avenue and Montauk Avenue Thursday morning left both drivers with minor injuries, according to police.

    Police Department said a 2001 Ford Focus was traveling eastbound on Willetts Avenue into the intersection when it collided at 8:13 a.m. with the passenger side of the school bus. The 27 Nathan Hale Elementary School students on board were not injured.

    The drivers of the vehicle and the bus were taken to L+M Hospital, according to police. The students were moved onto another bus to get to school.

    Police said Montauk Avenue between Blydenburg Avenue and Alger Street was closed for a short time.
