East Lyme ― A crash involving a tractor trailer closed one lane of traffic on the northbound side of Interstate 95 Wednesday morning, leading to traffic congestion in the area.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m., the state Department of Transportation reported the closed lane had reopened. Traffic congestion remains along a two-mile stretch of the highway between exits 72 and 74.
The DOT said the 9 a.m. accident, which involved at least three vehicles, occurred on a stretch of highway between exits 74 and 75. The area is the site of a major ongoing road construction project.
State police said only minor injuries were reported.
