UPDATED: Route 156 in East Lyme reopens after water main break

East Lyme ― Route 156, closed since Tuesday afternoon because of a water main break, reopened on Wednesday morning.

Police reported the road had reopened at about 5 a.m. The road had been closed in both directions between North Bride Brook Road and Chadwick Place because of a water main break at the intersection of Giants Neck Road.

The road was shut down at about 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
