Norwich police raid home and seize fentanyl, crack and a handgun
Norwich ― Police said they found drugs, cash and a gun and arrested two residents of a Mohegan Park Road apartment Wednesday.
With a search warrant in hand, police said they raided the home of 48-year-old Christine E. Grimes and 50-year-old Michael Michaelson, who live at 303 Mohegan Park Road, Apt. 123.
Police seized 39 grams of crack cocaine and 156 grams of fentanyl, along with methadone, promethazine, a loaded 9 mm handgun and a large amount of cash, Norwich Police Lt. Kyle Besse said in a statement.
The arrests were the result of an investigation by city police detectives and members of the State Police Violent Crime Task Force.
Grimes faces charges of operating a drug factory, criminal possession of a firearm, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of cocaine with intent to sell.
Michaelson is charged with operating a drug factory and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Grimes is free on a $150,000 bond. Michaelson was released on a $10,000 bond. Both are due to appear Oct. 3 in Norwich Superior Court.
