New London ― Police said they responded to multiple disturbances at the New London High School football game Friday night that involved fans in attendance, but no serious injuries were reported.

Police said they made one juvenile arrest.

“New London Police Personnel worked in collaboration with school administrators and staff to bring the situation under control for the safety of the players, cheerleaders, officials and the many fans in attendance,” police said.

The Day reported that the game between New London and Thames River at Cannamela Field was suspended due to unruly fan behavior. There were a couple of incidents involving fans in or near the stands, including a fight near the concession stand.

The game will be resumed on Monday at a time and site to be announced.
