Police seize drugs, handgun from Norwich residence
Norwich ― Police said they seized on Friday 15.4 grams of fentanyl, an illegally possessed semi-automatic handgun and a large amount of money from a Taftville residence.
Police said in a news release that members of the Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force East Office and the Norwich Police Department Detective and Patrol Divisions executed the narcotic-related search and seizure warrant at about 10:40 a.m. Friday.
Police found Anthony VonWinkle, 45, of 15 Shetucket Ave., at the residence and took him into custody.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, criminal possession of a firearm, and violation of a protective order.
Police said he was prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous conviction.
He was held on a $200,000 bond and was scheduled for an arraignment date at Norwich Superior Court, according to the news release.
