Waterford ― Firefighters rescued a man from the waters off Seaside State Park, where his kayak had overturned on Saturday, police said.

Police and Goshen firefighters were alerted to a kayaker in need of assistance at 10:30 a.m. Firefighters used a boat to retrieve the man, who had been in the water for about 20 minutes and getting tired, and brought him safely to shore, police said.

The man was evaluated by staff with Waterford Ambulance. No further information was available.
