Preston — State police are looking for two people who orchestrated a robbery on Route 2 in Preston by luring elderly homeowners away from their house, with one man claiming he worked for Eversource.

About 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to an incident report from state police, a man claiming to work for the electric utility distracted the homeowners while a second suspect entered the house and stole several items of value.

Police described the man who spoke with the homeowners as an unshaven white man wearing a polo shirt and dark pants. He was driving a white vehicle that was a newer model, possibly a hatchback, police said.
