Norwich — A fire that started under a front porch on Division Street Sunday morning was put out before it did any significant damage, Norwich Fire Department officials said.

Firefighters responded to a multistory house at 51 Division St. at about 10 a.m., according to a news release from the department.

They found smoke in the basement and first floor of the house, then located the fire under the front porch and extinguished it. The fire did minor damage to the porch but did not affect the rest of the house or cause any injuries. The fire is under investigation.
