Overturned tractor-trailer slows traffic on I-95 in Stonington
Stonington — Traffic moved slowly near Exit 91 of Interstate 95 north for several hours Friday morning because of an overturned tractor-trailer.
According to the state Department of Transportation, the wreck that left the truck on its side happened shortly after 5 a.m. about two miles beyond Exit 91. State police described the driver's injuries as minor.
Police said the truck was carrying 45,000 pounds of raw fish, all of which needed to be offloaded before the truck could be righted.
By noon, all lanes of the highway had been reopened.
