Police ID victim of downtown Norwich stabbing

Norwich — Police have identified the man who was seriously injured in a stabbing in downtown Norwich on Sunday.

Justin Nadeau, 21, is the victim. According to police, someone repeatedly stabbed Nadeau near 88 Chestnut St. about 8:15 p.m. Sunday. Nadeau then walked to Franklin Street, where a passer-by saw him lying on the sidewalk in front of 99 Franklin St.

Police said he sustained stab wounds to his body and head. On Sunday, he was in serious but stable condition at The William W. Backus Hospital. By Wednesday, hospital officials said they no longer had a patient by Nadeau's name.
