New London woman faces drug, gun possession charges

New London — Police on Thursday arrested a Jefferson Avenue resident on drug and gun charges after searching her home and finding crack cocaine packaged for street-level sales.

Jivonna Maddox, 28, of 64 Jefferson Ave., Apt. 1, is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a firearm.

New London Police Department narcotics officers served a narcotics-related search and seizure warrant at Maddox’s apartment Thursday morning and seized 16.9 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, two replica firearms — a BB gun and a BB rifle — and $121.00.

Maddox is a convicted felon who was sentenced to two years in prison in 2009 for possession with intent to sell narcotics, state judicial records show.
