Police find missing child, take her back to L+M Hospital

New London — A 3-year-old girl whose mother is accused of taking her from Lawrence + Memorial Hospital on Wednesday has been found, police said Saturday.

According to police, the child, Zaniyah Bullette, was a patient at L+M when her biological mother, India Quinones, took her from the hospital on Wednesday despite a medical hold.

Quinones does not have parental custody of the child.

New London police found Quinones and the child on Friday night at 8 Bristol St. after someone reported their whereabouts to the department.

Police took the child back to L+M Hospital for treatment, and the state Department of Children and Families has taken custody of the child.

Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing and could result in criminal charges.
