East Lyme — Police on Monday night arrested a man who they said intentionally crashed his car into another vehicle in the parking lot of a Black Point Road apartment complex.

Charles B. Crosby, 54, of 127 Black Point Road, Apt. 38, is the accused.

According to police, officers were called to 127 Black Point Road about 10:15 p.m. for a reported domestic disturbance. The caller said a man intentionally crashed his car, was making suicidal comments and may have entered another resident’s home.

Police said they found no evidence that Crosby had entered a home without permission but did find reason to believe he had crashed his car into another vehicle.

Crews took Crosby to the hospital for treatment. Police later charged him with second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment.

Last month, police charged Crosby with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol after he allegedly struck a vehicle on West Main Street and continued driving. He also is facing charges of evading responsibility and following too closely in the case, which is pending in New London Superior Court.

Released on a $10,000 nonsurety bond in the most recent case, Crosby was due in court Tuesday. It’s unclear whether he made it to the scheduled appearance.
