    Police seize 1,000 bags of heroin/fentanyl in Sprague

    Sprague _ State police seized a cache of drugs that included more than 1,000 bags of heroin and arrested two people earlier this month as part of an ongoing investigation.

    The drug seizure, which police announced on Monday, occurred March 2 when police executed a search and seizure warrant at at 105 West Main St. in the Baltic section of Sprague. Police said they seized 291 grams, or 1164 individual bags, of suspected heroin/fentanyl, 60 hydrocodone pills, 25 buprenorphine/naloxone strips and approximately $8,000.

    Kayla Murray, 27, and Richard Reiser, 30, both of 105 West Main St., were each charged with three counts of possession of narcotics, three counts of possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school.

    Both are scheduled to appear Friday in Norwich Superior Court.

    The search warrant was issued based upon a combined investigation between the Statewide Narcotics Task Force, the Sprague Resident Troopers Office and the Montville Resident Trooper’s Office.
