New London — The driver of a Silver Nissan Sentra struck a woman near the intersection of Broad and Ledyard streets and then left the scene Wednesday night, police said.

A witness told police the 9:45 p.m. crash happened at a low speed. The witness and another person carried the woman to a nearby gas station, where officers interviewed all involved parties.

Police said the woman had abrasions on her right elbow, right knee and left thigh. Crews took her to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

Police surveyed nearby businesses but couldn't locate any video footage of the incident.
