Police ID man shot Sunday in New London

New London — Police have identified the man shot outside 13 Washington St. early Sunday.

Police said 32-year-old Robert Winston's condition is "improving." A spokesman said Wednesday that Lawrence + Memorial Hospital had no patients by that name.

Police said they learned of the shooting when the hospital told them Winston had arrived with gunshot wounds at 12:43 a.m. Sunday.

The building at 13 Washington St. is home to Washington Street Coffee House, 2 Wives Brick Oven Pizza and several apartments.
