Norwich -- Taftville firefighters, with help from the Yantic and Occum departments and the Mohegan Tribal FAST Team, extinguished a house fire at 33 Frank St. early Sunday evening.

Although flames were coming from a second-floor window and first-floor door, firefighters had the 7 p.m. blaze under control in about 15 minutes. The home was vacant at the time of the fire. The Taftville fire department reported one firefighter was treated at the scene and brought to the hospital for evaluation of non-threatening injuries. The Norwich Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
