New London police: Teen found with BB gun

New London — Police charged a teenage male Thursday afternoon with carrying a dangerous weapon and breach of peace.

Police received a call about 2:20 p.m. reporting a juvenile with a weapon near Mountain Avenue and Prest Street. Police said they found a juvenile with a BB gun and arrested him. His name is not being released because he is under the age of 18 but police said he is about 14 years old and is a student at Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School.

Police did not provide any further information.
