    Wrong-way crash shuts part of Interstate 95 in Stonington

    Stonington — Police and emergency crews were called to the scene of a head-on collision Saturday caused by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 95 in Stonington. 

    The crash occurred about 6:15 p.m. in the southbound lane of Interstate 95 in Stonington between exits 91 and 90. State police at Troop E in Montville said multiple vehicles were involved and the southbound lane of the highway was closed between exits 91 and 90.

    Two Life Star helicopters were called by paramedics arriving at the scene.

    No further information was immediately available. State police were still on scene investigating at 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
