Fitch graduate facing attempted homicide charge in California

San Francisco police charged a 26-year-old Stanford University assistant director of admission with attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon other than a gun and domestic violence, news website SFGATE reported.

The admissions officer, James Shirvell, is a 2010 graduate of Robert E. Fitch High School in Groton. NBC Bay Area reported that he allegedly "stabbed a woman repeatedly while the two were experimenting with LSD, according to sources." The incident occurred Sunday, March 3.

During a court appearance Wednesday, he pleaded not guilty to four charges, according to The Stanford Daily, the university's student-run newspaper. His next court date is March 13, it reported.

Shirvell graduated from Yale University in 2014, NBC reported. While a student at Fitch, he was captain of the indoor and outdoor track teams and the soccer team, as a well as a member of the National Honor Society.
