Driver sustains 'serious' injuries in Groton crash
Groton — Two drivers were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, one with serious injuries, following a two-car crash near Mill Pond Road on Thursday, police said.
A portion of the Gold Star Highway, or state Route 184, was closed for hours because of the crash, which police said happened just after 11 a.m. The road was reopened before 2:30 p.m.
Groton Town police Deputy Chief Paul Gately said early Thursday evening he didn't have an update on the condition of the person with the serious injuries. Center Groton fire Chief Joe Winski said the person had been trapped in the car.
A regional reconstruction team responded to the scene and is investigating.
