New London — Police said they're searching for a driver who struck and seriously injured a man near Shaw and Hamilton streets early Monday.

Police said the driver left before they arrived at the 1:16 a.m. crash. Police couldn't get a description of the driver or the vehicle.

Crews took the pedestrian to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, but he later was transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital.
