Pawcatuck man charged with stabbing girlfriend multiple times

Stonington — Police arrested a Pawcatuck man Monday afternoon after they say he stabbed his girlfriend multiple times in her Noyes Avenue apartment.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, police said Tuesday.

Kenny Sullivan, 44, of 26 Noyes Ave., Apt. 1, was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and three counts of risk of injury to a minor. He was held overnight on a $75,000 bond and arraigned Tuesday in New London Superior Court.

Police said they responded to the Noyes Avenue apartment at 3:12 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing there. When they arrived, they found a woman on the floor with multiple stab wounds. Police said she told them her boyfriend had stabbed her after they argued about him cheating on her.

Police said three juveniles were in the apartment at the time of the stabbing. They were not injured.

Police said they later located Sullivan at the corner of West Broad and Coggswell streets in downtown Pawcatuck and he was taken into custody. As they did so, police said Sullivan told them he had stabbed the woman. Westerly police also assisted police in apprehending Sullivan.
