Life Star called in Ledyard crash
Ledyard — Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning that led to Life Star helicopter transporting a seriously injured motorcyclist to the hospital.
Ledyard Fire Company said that about 6 a.m., Ledyard police, Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Companies and American Ambulance responded to the area of Stoddards Wharf Road and Goulart Road for a car-versus-motorcycle accident. Police reported one patient with serious leg injuries, who was transported to the hospital from a helicopter landing zone at Ledyard Center School.
Route 214 remained closed for almost four hours as officials investigated the crash, and police said the investigation remains active.
