East Lyme police investigating car thefts

East Lyme — East Lyme police are investigating a pair of vehicle thefts in the Dean's Ridge neighborhood this past weekend.

At about 8 a.m. Sunday, the Waterford Police Department contacted police in East Lyme regarding a suspiciously parked vehicle in Waterford, police said Monday. East Lyme officers made contact with the vehicle owner and determined it had been stolen from their driveway overnight. A short time later, police received a report from another Dean's Ridge resident that their vehicle had also been stolen from the driveway.

East Lyme and Waterford police departments developed suspects and obtained information that led them to finding the second stolen vehicle in Bridgeport.

East Lyme police continue to investigate and say they will submit arrest warrant applications to court.

Anyone with information on the incidents can call police at (860) 739-5900.
