Norwich man charged with shooting at house party
Norwich — Police have arrested a Norwich man in connection with a Nov. 1 shooting during a fight at a rowdy house party.
Joseph Desir, 18, with a last known address of 5 Crossway St. in Norwich is charged with first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor.
Desir was presented in court on Tuesday and remains held on $100,000 court set bond, police said.
At 1:57 a.m. on Nov. 1, police said they were called to a home on East Main Street for reports of a “loud house party / disturbance.” Police determined that during a fight at that location, the accused brandished a firearm and subsequently shot the victim.
The victim sustained a minor head injury from a gunshot and was not admitted to the hospital. There was at least one juvenile present during the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
