    Groton man charged with sexually assaulting underage victim

    Groton — A Groton man is facing charges after allegedly sexually assaulting an underage victim and is due in court on Nov. 25, according to town police.

    Police said Randall Tilton, 30, of 84 Mumford Ave. was charged Nov. 1 with risk of injury to a child and first-degree sexual assault. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

    According to a probable cause report from the Groton Town Police Department, a woman had reported to police on Oct. 28 that the victim may have been sexually assaulted. During an interview by an independent forensic interviewer, the victim reported multiple incidents of being sexually assaulted by the suspect and that he had used his cellphone to take videos and photos of the sexual acts.

    According to the report, during an interview at the Groton Town Police Headquarters, "Tilton disclosed multiple underage victims," including the one initially reported to police.
