Accident on I-395 northbound in Montville snagged traffic
Montville — A stretch of highway between exits 6 and 9 on Interstate 395 northbound has been closed after a multi-vehicle accident occured about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the state's Department of Transportation Twitter account, the accident happened about a mile before Exit 9, near the Route 2A interchange, and is causing delays south of Exit 6 along the northbound route.
Several firetrucks and ambulances were called to the scene and traffic was at a complete standstill as of 5:48 p.m.
The vehicles involved in the accident later were towed off the highway to the Troop E barracks entrance and parking lot. The highway was reopened about 6 p.m.
