In the early morning hours of Aug. 16, 2018, police responded to reports of a house fire at 20 Stanley Place, the home of David R. Mixon. Mixon, 54, allegedly used "homemade incendiary devices" to start two separate fires at the home, according to the Norwich Police Department.

On Wednesday, Mixon was charged with two counts of first-degree arson, first-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of criminal mischief, police said.

No one was injured in the fire, police said.

Mixon was charged following an investigation by the Norwich police assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Norwich Fire Marshal's Office, the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigative Unit, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental protection, police said.

He appeared Thursday in Norwich Superior Court and was being held on a $150,000 bond pending a plea entry, according to court records.
