Two 14-year-old boys charged in connection with home invasion on State Pier Road

New London — Two 14-year-old boys have been charged in connection with a home invasion that left two people injured Monday in New London, police say.

The home invasion, which police say was targeted, happened at 3:17 p.m. on State Pier Road. Two victims were taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't life threatening, according to New London Police.

New London Police on Monday charged two boys with home invasion and second-degree assault and said Tuesday that the invasion wasn't a random act. The boys chose the home on State Pier Road specifically, according to New London police Captain Brian Wright.

At least one of the boys was caught in the area of the McDonald's restaurant on Colman Street. Wright, in a statement, said additional perpetrators were reported to be involved and police were seeking additional suspects.

The investigation remains active. Further information was not immediately available.
