Stonington —  Town police say a person was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital on Friday evening after a stabbing at the Howard Johnson hotel in Mystic.

Police were called to the scene about 7:44 p.m., Stonington police Capt. Todd Olson said, after a "domestic incident" occurred between two people. Olson could not yet detail the extent of the injuries.

Olson said police were still investigating the incident and are searching for the other person involved. Police have not yet released any physical characteristics or an identity of that person. No arrests had yet been made as of 9:15 p.m., Olson said, adding that it was not a random incident and the two people knew each other.
