Woman flown to hospital by Life Star helicopter after Monday crash on I-95 in Stonington
Stonington — An 18-year-old woman was taken to a hospital via Life Star helicopter after crashing into a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 north on Monday night, police said.
Julianna Harvey of North Kingstown, R.I., was driving north on I-95 when she crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer truck at 8:37 p.m. near Exit 90, according to Connecticut State Police at Troop E in Montville.
Harvey was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was taken by Life Star to Rhode Island Hospital for serious injuries. Her Chevrolet Malibu was heavily damaged, police said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, 46-year-old Franklin D. Wolverton of Illinois, was not injured.
