Life Star transports 29-year-old man to hospital following motorcycle crash in Ledyard
Ledyard — A 29-year-old man was taken to Hartford Hospital by Life Star helicopter after a motorcycle crash near the intersection of Colonel Ledyard Highway and Gallup Hill Road on Saturday afternoon.
Jeffrey A. Wilbur of Ledyard was driving the motorcycle south on Colonel Ledyard Highway when he veered off the right shoulder of the roadway and hit the guard rail, Ledyard police Sgt. Thomas Olsen said.
Wilbur suffered injuries to his “lower extremities,” Olsen said.
The roadway was shut down for about an hour and a half while police investigated.
No further information was immediately available.
