New London — A driver is facing charges after reportedly hitting a vehicle with a large truck in downtown New London on Tuesday evening and then leaving the scene, police said.
Police said they received multiple 911 calls about the accident about 7:44 p.m. After investigating, officers said they found the reported driver. Zoe Boutilier, 18, of Waterford, Maine, was charged with driving while intoxicated, evading responsibility, failure to drive right and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
No one was taken to the hospital as a result of the accident and the driver refused a breath test, police said.
Police on Tuesday evening temporarily blocked off part of State Street, where a damaged, parked vehicle was seen.
