East Lyme police arrest two men on drug charges

East Lyme -- Police arrested two men on a variety of drug charges early Saturday after they say they conducted a routine motor vehicle stop on Flanders Road at 1:18 a.m.

Police say they discovered the driver, David W. Roman, 24, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was wanted on a warrant out of Rochester, N.Y., charging him with menacing with a weapon. Police said they also found 1.1 ounces of a substance believed to be Fentanyl, along with other items related to narcotics sales and paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Roman was charged with being a fugitive from justice, possession of drug paraphanalia, operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and driving without insurance. He was expected to be arraigned in New London Superior Court Monday.   

His passenger, Michael Jorge Morales, 26, of Meriden was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
