Boat sinks in Niantic River

A privately owned 35-foot boat sank Tuesday morning in the Niantic River.
The boat sunk off Mago Point in the Niantic River between Niantic and Waterford just before 7 a.m., according to the East Lyme Police Department and the U.S. Coast Guard.
No one was on the boat at the time of the incident. Crews were working to salvage the boat Tuesday afternoon, police said.
