Separate motorcycle crashes snarl traffic on Interstate 95 in Waterford
Waterford — Two separate crashes on Interstate 95 around the same time Friday afternoon left one motorcyclist with minor injuries, according to state police.
State police said one crash occurred around 4:33 p.m. in the southbound side of the highway and one in northbound side in the same general area between exits 82 and 81. The operator in the southbound lane was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, while the operator in the northbound lane was not injured.
The crashes were unrelated, according to state police, who speculated rubbernecking may have contributed to the second crash.
The southbound lane was closed "momentarily," resulting in congestion, but has been opened back up, police said.
